Rex Ensemble

1973

1985

Over the weekend I got to have some fun by designing the LP cover for Rex Ensemble's Lorem Ipsum album. In The Shade are from today. I just finished work and felt the urge to do a couple more.

Hands for Illustrations

I just turned in a series of illustrations for a job, can't show them yet but these are the hands. I was pleasantly surprised at how they came out.

Quotes from the HD

I was reorganizing my hard drive and I found this quote.

"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Been a While

I've been busy, busy, busy at work.

Here is a quick photoshop doodle I did during class (instead of paying attention) heck I get to this tipe of work so rarely now, that I figured it was a whise decision.

Conferences- Comic-Con, Siggraph, 5D

I've been quite busy in the last couple of months firs getting things ready for the Comic-Con and Sigghraph. No I did not have a booth at neither. But I'm looking into having a booth next year at the Con. What did I do there? Well I got to meet some really great and talented people extremely nice and willing to give feedback on my work. Much of the talent from the major studios is there, if they are not giving a panel presentation they are selling their personal work. If I were to be ask to give a word of advice to someone that wants to get into commercial art for entertainment the word would be go to conferences and meet the people. It really makes a difference being able to talk to them directly, and getting rid of the middle man, HR or Secretary. It's more immediate and natural.

I was also able to meet Alex McDowell a production designer that has worked on many lave action features as well as animation features. He helped put together a two day conference, 5D: The Future of Immersive Design, for designers that will be phenomenal. The way he explained to me is that the conference should work as a meeting ground for professional designers and aspiring ones, so that we can move forward. The conference will be at Cal State Long Beach, University Art Museum (UAM), (funny enough I used to work there). and it will be on October 4-5, 2008 here is the link to the conference

I hope to see some of you there.
