Here's a bit of new info on the Curio & Co. Tarot deck: The whole set of cards will be actually a total of 80 cards with the 79th card being Number 22 - The Siren of the major arcana.
On the production front… It's been more then a couple of days since I last posted, well I've been hard at work coloring the cards. The printing deadline is right around the corner and every spare minute counts so I'll quickly say: here's some of the cards I worked on since the last post.

The Curio & Co. Tarot Deck - Unveiling at SDCC 2015
Here are some of the work I've done on the Curio & Co. tarot cards in the last couple of day, but not all of it just some of it. It's noticeable to see how the coloring process changed as I've been coloring the cards. As of now I have 24 cards in color and once done with all 80 cards I'll do a pass to make sure that the coloring is properly balanced in all of the cards.
And yes, you heard that right the full set will contain 80 cards - 78 are the Major and Minor Arcana with 2 additional cards, more details on this in the next couple of week. For the time being you get to see these designs.

More Minor Arcana Cards for the Curio & Co. Tarot Deck - Unveiling at SDCC 2015
Here's a batch of recent cards I've inked, I'm really close to finishing the inking pass and moving on to the color phase.
Before that I'll need to do an in-between pass for balancing of all the illustrations. That will take care of making sure that all of the hand drawn text is the same font, that there are no misspelling, and that illustrations are really what we want to bring to the color phase.
During this in-between pass I'll also be dealing with creating the back of the cards, and yesterday I made the decision for the background pattern I will be using. It took a bit longer then I anticipated to lock that down, but it's no surprise. Design is something that works or doesn't and you keep at it until you have the feeling that the image works for the project. Many are the times when I've done appealing designs that unfortunately didn't match the project, and out the window the design goes.
Enough blabber here are some of the cards I've inked recently.
Before that I should say… as a promotional effort…

The Magician Inked - The Curio & Co. Tarot Cards - at SDCC 2015
Here we are! Now that all of the rough designs are done we are moving onto inking.
As always I'll be taking liberty of design changes as the project will require, and from this point on I'll be in a digital environment for production expediency. I wish I had the luxury of sitting at drawing table. My eyes were so happy solely working on paper, and it's quite nice having a pile of drawings staring back at you, it gives a certain sense of achievement.
Without any further ado (drum rolls)
The Magician
Unveiling of the Curio & Co. tarot deck will take place at the Curio & Co. booth 1217 at San Diego Comic-Con, July 8. The cards will be officially released on September 15, 2015 at a the Curio & Co. art show taking place at Atelier Olschinsky Art Gallery here in Vienna.
We've had multiple request for the cards asking for the possibility of preorders and the chance to get the cards at the same time as the San Diego Comic-Con crowd is; I'm looking into the logistics for that. I'll let you know as soon as I have something figured out.
