Death - Curio & Co. Tarot Cards - Sneak Peak at SDCC 2015
Here's Death for your viewing pleasure (from a distance of course).
…and here's a little BTW: this card is #13
ASIDE: It's so much easier to ink if you already have the designs taken care of… DUH! Spend the time on the roughs.

The Hierophant - Curio & Co. Tarot Cards - Sneak Peak at SDCC 2015
The initial inking and layout are always test subjects I tend to go back and redo/fix things once all of the illustrations are done. That allows me to see what the sets requires for layout, stylistic lines and fonts. In animation the call it working on passes, I'm really happy I spent time in the animation industry it taught me a lot.
See you at the San Diego Comic Con ; )

The Moon - Tarot Cards Sneak Peak at Comic-Con 2015
Tarocard: The Moon - ink version 1. I'm working on the balance of the line weight to get them to read right at print size but also at decorative art prints size (4x the card size).
I tend to do multiple versions when I work on a project, considering that there are 78 cars… I really need to keep in mind to slim down my production process.

Abstract Digital painting
It was a heck of a busy day yesterday so I decided to unwind last night doing some more work (fun work).
Here's the result an abstract piece in black and white. It's been a very long time that I wanted to give it a go to something like this…
Curio & Co. - Tarot Cards Looking for the Look
This morning I did a test of how the tarot cards could look at the final stage. I think we'll go with something along this lines. I'm quite happy with the new brush it's got enough of a bleed and tooth it feels as if it could've really been on paper. Now I just need to figure out how to best deal with the paper on which they will be printed on so that they will have that old timey feel once they are in hand.

Our task was to design a sign that would complement the architecture and the atmosphere of the cafe.

Curio & Co. New Taro Cards Project - Sneak Peak at San Diego Comic-Con 2015
Here's a little announcement:
Curio & Co.'s next project will be a deck of tarot cards and of course they will carry a Curio flare for the fun absurd. The cards will have a really old fashion taste, in spirit with the classic Marseille tarot. I can't wait to start putting some color down on some of these concepts.
While San Diego Comic-Con 2015 attendee will have a chance to have a sneak peak at these illustrations and cards the the official release will be in September along with an already scheduled art show here in Vienna. More details to come.
In the mean time here are some sketches… just to wet your appetite.
